Paul English has a pretty serious sound system at Kayak's offices in Concord, and it might as well be blasting "We are the Champions" today as the online travel site celebrates its bombshell $1.8 billion acquisition by Priceline.com.
Founded eight years ago by English, the chief technology officer with a passion for customer service, and Steve Hafner, the CEO, Kayak built its brand by aggregating airline, hotel and rental car data, and makes its money by referring price-comparing customers to other sites where users complete purchases.
